How
Can I Thicken My Soup?
All
you need are instant mashed potatoes
- just sprinkle a small amount into your soup and stir it in to thicken
the
soup. Add additional small amounts until you get the desired
thickness.
I
Burned My Soup! Now What?
Here's
the fix...Take the liquid part of your
soup and pour it into a clean kettle. Then, add either
mustard, curry powder, chutney or one of your
other favorite flavors to suit your taste. This tip
really works and will save your soup.
My
Soup Is Too
Salty!
Have
no fear - potato is hear! Just take a pealed raw
potato
and drop it into your soup. Let it simmer in your soup for
about 15 minutes. The potato will absorb the extra salt from
the soup making it delicious and as a bonus, you'll get to eat a
beautifully seasoned potato.
Why
Was The Spoon Invented?
In
Europe, during the
17th century, popular fashion for the men and women of the high
courts
included large and stiff ruffles worn around the neck. The
design of the spoon was to accommodate wearers of
those large ruffles to keep themselves from getting dripped on! The
result of this wonderful invention was a dramatic increase in the
popularity of thin soups.
